Community Engagement
Securing the citizens' perspective regarding the range of opportunities and constraints of a study area is critical - not just to developing a sound comprehensive plan, but in building, a constituency that can help ensure a plan’s ultimate adoption and implementation. Our approach to community engagement is to provide citizens with a meaningful role that clearly influences the resulting plan. Only then will citizens, elected officials, and staff fully support the adoption and implementation of the plan.
MDS uses a variety of consensus building techniques including:
- Key Pad Polling
- Community Survey (Spanish and English)
- ArcGIS Mapping and Analysis
- Google Earth
- Asset Mapping
- Design Charrettes
- Community Preference Surveys
- Dedicated Project Websites
